> Digital Seance This is a device for use in a communion with the dead (or seance). The digital seance box registers sudden enviromental and electromagnetic changes and reacts according to them, reasuring the sitters that the enviromental changes they register are real. It is a discursive piece which asks the question, can a belief system open up new possiblities and functions of technology? The device works with various pieces of paranormal insvestigative technology to identify many levels of ambient enviromental change, including electrostatic charge, AC electromagnetic fields, DC electromagnetic fields, temperature and humidity, redisplaying all these through an LCD screen, speaker and an indicating lightbulb. The device is powered by 240AC mains and an active USB cable (for data-logging). Exhibited at [annotations] in 2007.
